Painted en plein air over a period of 3 days in glorious summer sunshine. I was led to this field after painting Swallows Swifts and Elderflowers in Cwmdu. This wonderful peaceful view looks towards Dyffryn Crawnon and Llangynidr and Tal-y-Bont reservoir hidden beyond the hills. Gliffaes and Cwmdu are to the left and the A40 is winding along the valley below towards Brecon. Strange to think that this quiet country road winds up as the busy six lane A40 usually blocked by traffic in the middle of London
